The title says it all! This particular sculpture by Patz Fowle is often viewed with mixed emotions. Pork Pie was handbuilt in stoneware and the oozing red stuff is pigmented resin. PS: the metal pie tin is a ready-made.
Wheel-thrown and altered stoneware and porcelain. Underglaze, was used to create the gut-wrenching green color and nichrome was fired into the clay for hair. Marbles were made by combining stoneware, porcelain and terracotta clay. The Potters Council of the American Ceramic Society selected this piece as part of the 2013 "Green Exhibition" shown during the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts in Houston.
