The International
ART Exchange of... IDEAS
Connecting artistic visions between art students in different countries, backgrounds, and cultures,
Artist Patz Fowle developed the International Art Exchange of Ideas.
The first International Exchange of Art Ideas program was implemented between
ASIJ
The American School in Japan. Tokyo, Japan
and
The Governor's School for Science and Mathematics. GSSM Hartsville, South Carolina. USA
Art teachers in Japan were fascinated by the Patz Process Ceramic Technique and the hand built animal sculptures that students
were creating in the USA. So, they invited me to Tokyo, Japan to teach as an International Visiting Artist.
While in Japan, I was intrigued by visual art that the teachers and students were exhibiting, and that is how The Art Exchange of Ideas began.

With the help of Art Instructors, Students from one school shared their ideas for creating art with students at another school and visa-versa.
The students in different countries were able to view each others works-in-progress and later their finished creations,
in a virtual International Art Exhibition on three different web sites.
A special thanks to Directors of Art, Ms. Jenny Thomas and Mr. Carl Knudsen at ASIJ The American School in Japan
